The Bangladesh Food Safety Foundation (BFSF) is a science-based, independent, and not-for-profit organization that emerged as the first think-tank of its kind in March 2019. The Foundation is committed to disseminating food safety science and knowledge and promoting a food safety culture with the motto “United for Safer Food.” All stakeholders are welcome aboard as we strive towards our goal.

The Foundation seeks to assist food businesses and food control agencies in setting and adapting food safety standards to demand modern, high standards of food safety. Additionally, the Foundation aims to become a leading think-tank institution providing policy advocacy and guidance while strengthening regional and global food safety integration. Food businesses stand to benefit significantly as they can demonstrate that they meet safety standards supported by an independent, science-based organization. This will help bolster confidence in Bangladeshi food businesses and Bangladesh as a nation dedicated to producing safe, high-quality food for its people. With a stronger institutional base, the Foundation aims to cover all activities from the “Farm to Table” continuum and gradually expand into the activities covered by the “Food Safety Ecosystem.” At present, the Foundation is in the process of resource mobilization and institution building. We welcome all support from food control agencies, food business operators, civil society, and consumers towards this noble initiative.

Overall, the Bangladesh Food Safety Foundation is dedicated to promoting and ensuring food safety in Bangladesh, and we are committed to achieving our goal through collaboration and the dissemination of knowledge and expertise.
