The Bangladesh Food Safety Foundation (BFSF), in collaboration with the Bangladesh Supermarket Owners’ Association (BSOA), commemorated World Food Safety Day 2022. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the organizations harnessed the power of virtual platforms and electronic media to carry out their mission.
Key Activities undertaken by BFSF and BSOA
1. Showcasing UN E-Poster and E-Flyer on BFSF Website: A customized UN e-poster (file: WFSD 2021 Customized E-Poster) and an informative e-flyer (file: Website Contents_WFSD 2021 Observance) were prominently featured on the BFSF website: www.fsfbd.org.
2. Outreach to Food Businesses and Professional Agencies: The same engaging e-flyer was shared on select food business and professional agencies’ websites with an earnest request for their participation in the observance (file: Campaign Materials for WFSD 2021 Professional Group Facebook).
3. Extensive Dissemination Efforts: An additional set of the e-poster and e-flyer were widely disseminated to various stakeholders, including 380 Food businesses, Associated trade and industry bodies; 367 International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs); 116 Print and electronic media outlets; 106 Diplomatic missions and international organizations operating in Bangladesh; 1367 Individual professionals and 418 Interested individuals and government officials (file: Email Contents_WFSD 2021_Observance FINAL).
4. Outreach Through SMS:
Approximately 4,000 individuals received SMS notifications, ensuring that a broad spectrum of people were informed and engaged in the global observance of World Food Safety Day.
