World Food Safety Day 2019: Conference on ‘Food Safety: Everyone’s Business’ 

Dhaka, 5 May 2019 – The Bangladesh Food Safety Foundation (BFSF) and the Bangladesh Supermarket Owners’ Association (BSOA) are excited to announce the observance of the First World Food Safety Day, scheduled to take place on 7 June 2019 in the Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh Auditorium, Khamar Bari, Farmgate, Dhaka. 

The observance of the First World Food Safety Day will provide an opportunity to be united for safer food since food safety is everyone’s business. Mr. Mustak Hassan Md Iftekhar, Founding Chairman of the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority will explain the background of the UN General Assembly declaration of the Day in 2018 and the ‘Themes’ of the Day. Mr. Shaheen Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Meena Bazar is the ‘Keynote Speaker’ while Mr. Niaz Rahim, President of BSOA will chair the Conference. This event will bring together food businesses, individual experts, academia, consumers and food control agencies. The event is open to invitees only.
