Dhaka, 21 January, 2024 – The Bangladesh Food Safety Foundation (BFSF) is excited to announce observance of the 2 February National Food Safety Day, scheduled to take place on the 3 February 2024 in HORTEX Foundation Conference Room, Sech Bhaban, Mani Mia Avenue, Dhaka. The BFSF will organize a seminar on “The importance of Consumer Awareness and Raising Voices Against Food Contamination and Malpractices” on the occasion. This event is part of BFSF’s ongoing commitment to be “united for safer food”.
Mr. Monjur Shahriar, former Director of the Directorate of National Consumers Rights Protection will present the seminar paper. Four distinguished experts Dr. Iqbal Rouf Mamun, Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Dhaka; Mr. Akhtaruzzaman, Former Director, Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute; Dr. Muhammad Abdul Malek, Professor, Department of Microbiology, University of Dhaka will contribute as Panelists.
Mr. Golam Rahman, former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and President, Consumers Association of Bangladesh will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest while Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Chairman, Bangladesh Mothophone Association, Mr. Anowar Faruk, former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and Dr. Syed Md. Rafiqul Amin, Manning Director, Horticulture Export Development Foundation as the Guests of Honor. Dr. Md. Hamidur Rahman, former Director General, Directorate of Agriculture Extension will chair the seminar. This event will bring together food businesses, individual experts, academia, food control agencies and consumers to discuss and address key issues. The event is open to invitees only.
